Things I say to people in my mind.

To the man wearing his Airline Pilot uniform: "Fly safe my friend. And don't crash! Please."

To the nice smiling man carrying a young boy in his arms: "OMHeck! that boys' hair is gorgeous! He'll be a heart breaker. (He had long curly blond locks. And I knew he was a boy because he was wearing camouflage.)

To the man wearing army fatigues: "Thank you!"

To the woman conversing with another that said: "I don't mean to gossip, but I heard...," I say, "then don't!"

To the girl texting while driving alongside my car: "Are you serious?!?!? PUT THE PHONE DOWN!"

To the man wearing a beanie: "you're kids have beautiful red hair. Must've gotten it from you. You don't need to hide it."

To the woman at the gas station: "Thank you for saying hi and asking me how my day is. It reminds me that I should do the same to other strangers."

To the daughter of a woman I know, that caused a terrible car crash: "I'm glad you and everyone is OK. People make mistakes. Don't be so hard on yourself."

To my very good friend when I drive past her house: "Honk honk" (cause I'm too chicken to actually do it.)

To my neighbor: "Please stop hating us. I can feel the hatred every time I see you outside. We really ARE decent people. Give us a chance and you might like what you learn. But then, maybe you did and then didn't. For that, I'm sorry. I DO want to be your friend!"

To the child/ren that live in this house. "I LOVE YOU!"

To one of my church leaders: "You intimidate me. I wish I felt love and compassion from you."

To the thousands of cars out my window: "I wonder where you're going?"

To my childhood friends, that have recently been found: "I wish it was like it used to be when we were little."

To my family: "I miss you a lot!"

To the woman yelling at her kids in the store: "PLEASE don't do that in public. For your kids sake! Public humiliation is the worst. But I understand why you would be so frustrated."

To the people that visit my blog: "THANK YOU FOR VISITING. It's OK to comment, even if you don't know me."

As requested...my embarrassing act. Or talent show act.

Random Thoughts:

*I think I broke my "ring" toe today. Ashton and Eli were wrestling and I was minding my own business sitting in my chair with my feet propped up when they come crashing down on me with such force that Jared had to stop me from saying things I would regret later. It really hurts! I was going to run tomorrow. Bummer. Now I can't. ;o)

* I've decided that I hate being 30. I feel Unentitled and Uncool. I love some of the styles that are out right now, but feel that I have reached the point in some young adults eyes that I'm not cool enough to pull it off. And when I try, sometimes I feel silly. So I usually resort back to my frumpiness. UNTIL one such as I comes out looking awesome in the things I like too. Then starts this cycle again. *sigh* Jared pointed out that it sucks when you come to the realization that you aren't "cool" anymore, or even better, that you never were. Me? Never was "cool". I was always the trusty little lamb that folowed in the shadows. For now, I will continue to assume that my littlest ones think I'm the coolest person EVER.

*Ok, so Jared and I just bet on how long it would take for the boys to come back in the house from playing, crying. It was 7:17 at the time and he bet 10 min from that time. Keeping with the #7 I chose 7 min. I'm VERY proud to say that EXACTLY 7 min later. On the dot. We hear that first cry. I totally rock! Cause I'm cool like that. Oh wait...no I'm not. Dang it!

*At the beginning of the school year. I told Mykael I would pay her 1 dollar for every book she read in the school year. I'm thinking I should've offered 25 cents instead. I'm now in debt to her OVER $100 dollars and we've got one more trimester! But I think that's awesome. She's an amazing reader like that.

*In the past few days I've had the opportunity to show compassion and love for someone that did it to me a few years ago. Some of you may know already but a very dear friend from St. George/ Las Vegas suffered a MASSIVE stroke about 6 weeks ago. He has since miraculously improved enough to be moved up here to a specialty hospital for rehabilitation. He's paralyzed on one side and can't talk much but after the past few days he has said my name! Shrugged his shoulder, raised his eyebrow in interest, and smiled. I've been there in the mornings and at night just to be with him till his family can make the arrangments to come up. I'm enjoying the one on one time with him but it gets frustrating when it comes to communication. (Or the lack thereof) I don't know if he's comfortable, cold, warm, in pain, needs something. And the guessing game continues. So for now, I try to make sure he's well covered and warm and that all his needs have been met for the day. I DO know that anything I may be lacking, his wonderful wife will pick up the slack once she arrives. I kid you not, she WILL make sure everything is taken care of, and then some! ;o)

*Ashton lost a front tooth. The other one is on its way out too. He looks kinda cute and funny. Love that boy!

*Eli said, "sexy momma". I may not be cool but I'm sessy. ;o)

What are your random thoughts?

An unhappy story

Habit is such, that in the mornings, I awaken all the animals and then let the sun in for our enjoynent. This one morning, I looked out and saw this!

Very suspicious looking, if you ask me.

Oh, NO YOU DON'T!!!

Reinforcements? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, now was it?

Sizing it up. Picking the best place to strike. (he did that a lot. up and down, up and down.)

Jerk!

Yea, you better clean up your mess!

The other one you see on the far left of the picture, the lighthouse looking thing, yea, that one came down too. *frown*
And I don't think new ones will be built in thier place. They brought dirt in, smoothed it, and awaiting sod now. Boring.
I hope I'm wrong.
These two old structures attracted A LOT of different people in search of a great photographic background. Weddings, family, prom, quensietta (I know i didn't spell that right. But when a hispanic girl turns a certain age she has this HUGE celebration thrown for her. Rival to a wedding!), baby...etc. Heck, I even went over and did my own photo shoot with the kids. It's going to be a boring summer, staring out my window.
*so what if they were starting to crumble and lean on it's own.

The suspense is killing you I know.....

....but don't die yet. I'm not finished yet.

Notice the table cloth where I'm filling it in? I worked on 3/4's of that on the way to St. George. A 4 hour trip. Just to give you an idea of how long this is taking me. Good grief, that isn't even close to the rest of the table that still needs to be done! Since that 4 hour trip I have not touched it. It just got old. Fast! But I'm thinking that it's time to pick it up again. 2 weeks is a good break.

Never a dull moment in this house

Eli and Dylan found a pack of daddy's gum and took off with it somewhere to consume in secret. I of course didn't know this till this morning when I woke up to this:

The first thing I did was go online to facebook and plead for help as to what I should do.

Peanut butter and ice were the number 1&2 suggestions. Then a call to mom of course was needed as well. She suggested butter and ice. But we settled on olive oil since it was the common substance in all suggestions. (ya know, cause olive oil is in peanut butter, ice and butter, right? You knew what I meant so please move off my back so the monkey can climb up to it's designated position. Thank you!) ;o)

I was hestitant to start picking at it since it was in such a tender spot. I even picked at it a little bit and he cried out. So I decided to wait till daddy got home. (ya know, cause it's ok for a daddy to toture his children than it is for the momma) He has a way of calming (holding children down) while I quickly get the job done.

But this time, Daddy didn't even need my help. He just got right in and got the job done. NO CRYING AT ALL! Impressive!

The oil worked wonderfully. And now his skin is nourished as well.

BUT THEN.......(in the meantime).....We were driving home and Eli exclaimed that gum was on his chair. I look back and he's trying to stand up with a very cartoony looking sticky clump of gum attaching the seat of his pants to the seat-in-which-he-was-supposed-to-be-buckled-into-but-he's-all-hudini-like-that. I pulled over. Stripped Eli down and proceeded home (with caution. Cause that's how I roll).

This was the method I chose for the extraction....(kinda ceral killer looking huh? yikes!)

Piece of cake!

It worked beautifully as well! So there you go. Living proof that gum in hair, clothes, and carseats doesn't mean an instant meeting with a dumpster. (ok...I wouldn't throw my kids away because of gum in the hair, but you know what I meant! Right?)

Over the River and through the.................

................................................................................

...uhhh.....desert? To Grandmother's house we go.

From riding toys to exploring the open desert

the kids have a blast and are never bored. We love St. George. We miss it! But when we are finally able to make the trip we find ourselves asking why we don't go more often. I hate how life does that to us. We even got to see Uncle Coley. Mr. BigShotHelicopterPilotInVegas! The kids just love him.

We love you grams and gramps. MEOW!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
miss you already

Burn Baby Burn

Alright, I think I'm past the weird funk I was in for the month of February. And from what I've heard...I wasn't the only one. Here's hoping for a fresh start with March. Just gotta get past this white stuff and wait for the spring flowers to spring forth. Can't wait! (although I DO know the importance of water.)

So today I decided to get a bit of "yard work" done. I've been battling crab grass for as long as we've been in this house. I HATE IT! It's ugly, poky, and hard to get rid of. Every year, it "dies". Or at least the grass above ground does and makes for dead stuff that is hard to get rid of when the new sprouts. I'm not into power raking, but I AM into fire! It's quicker than raking and more fun! I just stink like a fire pit when it's over. SO...that is what I did for my "yard work". I torched the back yard!

Isn't it ugly? The new grass has to come up through this junk just to make an appearance.

I was surprised that I allowed it to burn as much as I did. But I know that after this "rain/snow" storm, spring growth will be ready to burst. SERIOUSLY CAN'T WAIT!
I decided to do it in two sections. That which was not burned today will be burned another day. I promised Ashton I would wait to burn it so he can witness it.

You're next baby!!! It's going to be AWESOME!
