*Jaden got a lizard (bearded dragon) on Friday. And this kind of Lizard eats crickets. Like A LOT of crickets! So its turned into a daily (if not every other day) trip to the pet store for food. It's close enough I allow him to ride his bike to get them. He likes it and its building his 'responsibilty' to have to care for something like that.
The only drawback of this little trekk is that you have to cross one of the busiest intersections in town to get to it. My breathing goes on hiatus until I see his little head cruise by upon his return.
Today before Jaden left, Ashton asked if he could go. I instantly said no! But after I thought about it, I decided to allow it. (I know, I questioned it after they left but I trusted Jaden and the helmets purchased.)
Before Ashton left, I made sure he was fully aware of how important/VITAL it was to stay with Jaden and listen to him! He acknowledged and off they went.
When my breathing was able to resume after there cheerful voices were heard,
Ashton came running up to me and said,
"Mom, I prayed that I wouldn't get runned over. And I didn't!!!"
From this mother to 'Him'.....THANK YOU for answering his little prayer!
*Story behind that to be posted soon!

Iris is August
I personally don't spend too much time in my back yard. Watering and mowing and maybe to rescue an injured child from the trampoline. So when I decided to walk around and check things out. (Actually I was talking to Alisha and I wanted to not be interupted.) I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had 10 Iris buds, 1 in which was in full bloom, all on one plant. (If you remember, the purple and white blossoms that were the first to bloom earlier this year, those were the ones making a reappearance. AND another plant that has a stalk starting to come up which could also have up to 6 buds as well. I'm really excited about that one because it didn't bloom earlier.
I had never heaard of that happening, so I called Grandpa L to see if that was "normal". He said that Grandma had mentioned that if the conditions were right, they could bloom twice in one year. So no, its not "normal", but a very pleasant surprise!
And...I think they smell like her.
(I will post pictures as soon as I can.)

Bits of Tid (me, me, me version)
I get to sleep w Super Man and Eli tonight!
I spent the latter half of the day with Angelle!!!
6/6 people in this house got haircuts today. I did 4 of them.
I got to take a nap earlier today.
I cooked 12 homemade tortillas, shoulda done 24!
School starts tomorrow. Haven't decided how I feel about the kids going back already.
I had a dream I met a blogger I've stalked for awhile now. It was a pleasant meeting.
I wish I had more style. Clothing and interior design.
I want to learn a talent, master it, then just start doing it for others and blow them all away.
I'm happy w the school teachers picked for this year. We'll see if I still fell the same in the end.
I love visitors. Anybody want to come over? You don't have to ask, just show up and walk in.
I didn't go to "meeting" tonight. Paying for it now.
I wanted a snow cone today, never got around to it.
It's hard to let your children stretch their wings, but when you do...pride is what comes next.
I'm more in love w my husband than I ever have been. I think its only going to get more intense. I just might burst.
I've said a lot of "thank you" prayers. He's been answering!

We're in Vernal right now. We went to the fair last night, it wasn't as big as I was hoping it to be. I like me some nice greasy fair food every now and then and the pickins were SLIM! The 'carnival' didn't even have a ride that went upside down. And the commercial building was nothing but tutu's and big bows for little girls. (Something I don't have....little girls.)
The one thing it DID have was a double rainbow. So that's what I spent my time doing. Trying all the different settings on my camera to see how the pictures would turn out.(they didn't really vary much...these two are my favorite...)

What I learned today:
*if you want to change someones attitude, change your own. (I already knew this...just need to live it.)
*there's no such thing as too many trips to walmart. (In one day.)
*(gulping down my pride) I'm a hypocrit.
*its time to teach Eli the importance of using a toilet and not the nice outdoors.
*that I really miss Ashton.
*it's better to put your own insecurities on hold while you help another w/ theirs.
*I can't go very long w/out my support group.
*dragonflies have a defense mechanism. (Pinchers?) Thanks Jade for finding out for me (us all.)
*we don't know everything. And when we do, I choose to use it wisely.
*I'm not dying after all. (Oh wait, yes I am...just not today....I hope.)
*someone welcomed a new niece into their family (congrats T&J!)
*I love my "enemies"
(I'll add more as the days continue to teach me more)
What did you learn?

Why does this happen to me?
I'm enforcing a new rule in my house, simple but important. I don't want to find myself in this situation again.
No Toys Allowed In The Bathroom
Easy, right? Well now let me explain why because I know you know I won't deprive you of such a thing.
E.L.I. of course was involved. I'm so proud of how well he has potty trained. I think its even safe to say that he doesn't need a diaper for naps and bedtime. He's always dry. So this morning when he was taking care of business, I went in to assist with, uh, let's say, cleanup (?) The fascination of watching said act (#2) is something all my boys have gotten caught up in. Whatever...I'll blame it on the male species. (I've yet to hear of mykaels fascination, so again, I blame the guys.)
Anywho, I finished my part and was washing up when he decided he wasn't done yet. SO, I wait some more. At that point, Dylan came to "check this out", and I was starting to feel like too much interest was being used for my comfort. I scootched dylan on out and heard Eli say, "uh oh" and unconsciously remebered hearing a plop. I assumed an acceptable plop occured but instantly knew otherwise. At that point the toilet had been "filled" (if ya know what I mean) by my sweet boy And after investigating what unfortunate toy was now laying at the bottom (no pun intended) with other "stuff". First thought, Tongs. No way! NOT my pampered chef "tools". No amount of sterilizing could ever make me comfortable using them again. (That, and I'm now blogging about it now, so if you ever come and eat at my house, you would question. I assure you, the thought quickly passed. Wasn't really an option.) Next thought...garage. (sorry honey, I knew you'd understand. Consider it a hit for the male species to conserve ones "fascination".) Fortunately, a little stick I found in there, was chosen to perform the unspeakable act of retreiving such a "worthy" (not my definition) toy from the unknown. The rest was done quickly and I now have a stick in the trash and a toy in the sink.
Any suggestions on how to sterilize it?

The deep meaning of loneliness
Yesterday, we had a lot of family here visiting. But only for a brief time. To make up for that I cooked a big dinner. (Maybe with alterial motives.) Lots of food keeps people around, right? Not really but it was still nice. I even came up w some yummy healthy dishes that when I'm not so depressed, I'll share.
I had so many people coming and going that when all is over w, that instant emptiness quickly overcomes oneself. I am now w only two children while the others are making the most of what's left of summer. But the biggest contributor to feeling so alone is when Jared pops in "real quick". The reunion is always received so enthusiastically by little and big ones running up to see daddy. But before we know it, he's gone! Dylan no longer tells jared he loves him because that is what is said right before daddy hangs up the phone or leaves. He plain out refuses. Amazing how quick he made that connection at such a young age.
So while my husband and 3 of my children are not w me right now, I know the two I've got will keep me preoccupied. Until that happens, I will go take a nice nap and wake up happy.

Well I sure showed me, didn't I? I get so bold as to tell you I have the ability to blog whenever and where ever I want and couldn't be stopped (or shut up). Sorry for renigging. One excuse I have is that my thought process no longer exceeds more than a sentence worth, thanks to facebook. When stories used to come to me before, I always thought "totally blog worthy". Now it's, "audrey feels like being lazy today."
Lots of blogs I've come to enjoy are turning their screens off (metaphorically speaking) and I'm sad to not have something to distract myself from the stresses of everyday life. And realized that I was no different. In a way I had abandoned my blog when I knew there are great people out there reading this insignificent blog (THANK YOU!!) As much as I really have nothing to contibute to your life, you can still read my rantings if its a place for you to escape. Promise! I've grounded myself from facebook till my thought process recovers.
First off, I wanted to tell you that if you've been wondering, Eli has just made known to me, that the moon is between his big and (index?) toes. I'll let you know when it is moved back to original orbiting position.
This week the weather dropped drastically in temperature and there's a crispness in it that notifies me (personally) that fall is just around the corner. That and school starts on 20th. Wow! Where did the summer go?! Oh yea I do know... mileage and gas. Loved seeing everybody, didn't love the countless hours of kids screaming in restrained seating while wishing I had the superpower of "blink travelling". Someday. Someday.
Also, I didn't plant a garden this year. HUGE regrets. Because I honestly thought we wouldn't be here for harvest so didn't see the point. Right now people are canning their beans and picking nice big squash and zuchini. Thank you friend for sharing a little of your "fruits". I have one tomato plant from mothers day and I have made sure it was happy and fruitful. Which it is. My pear tree had decided to take a "break" this year because there is but only a handful of fruit to pick. Last year branches were breaking and thinning needed to be done with all the fruit it sprouted. Its been really nice eating the pears my family helped can. Let this be a lesson to us all. Johnny apple seed and migrating pioneers planted gardens knowing they wouldn't benefit from the labors. But others did.
On a random topic, but not old. One of my fish is sick and I've gone to great lengths to treat it/all of them. Nothing has changed so I have to go get something else to try and fix it. Pray for him/her. Thanks to Eli's fatal attraction to fish I need a new sucker fish cause my tank is D.I.R.T.Y.! Pray for Eli as well.
That's going to have to be it for now, I don't want to push my luck with stretching my thought process. Injuries? No thank you.
Until next time.
