Green and Gold Ball.
We just happened to be reminded at the last minute (we were on a bikeride and stopped at the church to see what was going on.....) that it was the green and gold ball. I knew the kids (Jaden and Mykael) would want to go. So we hurried back home to get changed. Jared even went AND danced with me. Very nice.
The kids spent the time daring each other to dance with so-and-so, while Ashton tackled bigger "boys" with his friends, as Dylan and Eli alternated between the snack table and playing with balloons. It was a much bigger turn out than last years which made it even more enjoyable. "The more the merrier". Right?
Here's last years pictures. I didn't take my camera with me this time. Didn't think about it. Sad. But we ALL had a great time.

Biking 101
Step 1: Protection. Whatever you've got will work. Even if it's a pot with duct tape. Secure the noggin. You'll want to keep it.
Step 2: Wear the most atrocious outfit combo you can find.
Step 3: Hold the seat and handles. Just like your driver's ed teacher did to the stearing wheel in high school. Now we know why.
Step 5: Let daddy take over once you realize your outfit is unfit for pictures.
*Due to an outside observation of my own selfishness, I have revised this course to two very simple steps....
Step 1: When a properly attired adult let's go of your seat, Ride like a bat out of hell!
Step 2: Make your momma proud!!!
P.S. no scrapes, cuts, or bruises were aquired with the making of this post.
The end. :o)

Where oh where has my little boy gone?
It's 10:30 pm. All children have been put to bed and I'm waiting for the last person (grandma L) to turn their lights off so I can go to sleep. (I HATE having ANY light on!) I waited and waited and waited and the light was not going out. SOOO I got out of bed to turn it off. Dylan had given me a hard time about going down so I checked on him. The only light that was on was the stairs. So I crept in his room and he wasn't in his bed. First thougth. Grandma. So I went down and discovered she was alone. I asked if she had seen Dylan and "no" was what I got back. Of course, that called for all lights to be turned on and this is what I found.....
Apparently he was in transit to my room and while he waited for me to go to sleep before sneaking into my bed (as usual), he got a little tired himself. By this time, grandma came up to help, so we had a good laugh together and went ahead with a photo shoot.
It pays for mommy to not put clothes immediately away after washing.

Ashton's 6
I really had big plans for his cake. But circumstances were such that the day was very rushed and the preparation time for the cake was limited. I was bummed, but he liked it anyways and it turned out ok. First off...he wanted a Lego Star wars cake. The only image I could find was a storm trooper.
Alisha told me of this idea about putting waxed paper over an image and then tracing with frosting. It worked ok but would've been better if it had more time to freeze. But it at least left an imprint or stamp that I was able to go over with frosting.

Kennecot Copper Mine "fieldtrip"
Water truck. I would REALLY like to know how much water is being held in this thing. Never found that out. But we plan to go back for more. We really loved it and it is so close.
