Words will have to do for now.

I'm so bugged with blogger right now because I can't post pictures or anything of the likes unless I buy more storage. I had wanted to share what happened to me.

For my birthday the other day:
*I spent 5 hours with a childhood friend. Just the two of us.
*Mykael made me a cake.
*Jaden comandeered the 3 little boys and cleaned the 'whole' house;
*While my hub took me to be pampered with a facial, pedicure, and make-up done.
*Ashton even made up a song on the piano and when I asked him to play it again to record....Eli and then Dylan decided, quite instantly, that they made up a song as well and played them for me. OH how I wished I could post them!!!!
*I recieved a loaf of homemade delectable bread.
*Had an "edible basket" delivered with the most amazing chocolate covered/dipped fresh fruit!
*And phone calls spread throughout the whole day from people who love me. (or had been threatened by my mother to "don't forget to call Audrey"!)
*The gifts from the kids came from the dollar store with trinkets that ranged from a glass rooster to cookies to a porcelin horse box and CANDY!
*And had good company over for dinner and cake.
*as well as stuff that will happen this coming week.

It was such an awesome day. Now I'm going to go tell everyone that my birthday is really next weekend. And the weekend after that, then after that, and so on. :o)

And the cake Mykael made for me.......SO EXTREMELY proud!

ps....looks like only two people are going to get a free something something from me. I'll give you till wednesday at 3:36pm whatever time zone you're in. To tell me what you do with your socks. So, get on it, will ya?

Oh Heck...Why Not?

This was posted on a blog I like to read and thought I'd try it...a Tag of sorts.
I've always wanted to do a giveaway of sorts. But it always seemed to much. But this...I can do, so here's the deal; I am offering a small hand made gift to the first 5 (I should knock that down to 2, since that's about all who reads my blog anyways, but we'll see. Miracles do happen!)people to comment. All you need to do to qualify is.. be a follower, leave a comment on this post and join in by making the same offer on your blog. There isn't a strict time limit but the gifts should be posted before the end of 2011. I will ship to anywhere in the world. (Not that I'm a world renouned blogger. HA!) The purpose is to "pay it forward", so you don't really have to follow me or post to your own blog. (I doubt I'll check in on you to see if you did it or not. I have enough to check in on like my children's supposed clean room.)

Soo...go on, don't be shy. And since you need to comment...how 'bout you tell me what you do with all your loner socks. The ones that are left without a mate after the washing machine performs its' magic disappearing sock trick.

I've tried to upload pictures all week, and at first it was telling me that I had reached to alotted 1GB of free storage space for pictures on Picasa. It also mentioned that that "free space" also included all my other "google accounts". So I went and deleted all the old emails out of my gmail. So i came back here to try uploading again, thinking I had freed some space. WELLL...now it's saying it will only allow pictures that i have authorized to upload. But it doesn't give me any prompts on where to go to do that. SOOO frustrated right now!

Must be a conspiracy. *glancing over shoulder*

Labels

I FINALLY finished labeling ALL the posts in this blog. For easier recalling, I suppose. It was fun to go back and skim through a few years of memories. Some I remembered. Some I didn't. And Some day...I'll turn this into a book for my grandkids.

Dylan's birthday

*Note: I'm going through Labeling all my posts. And I came across this post that never got posted....over TWO YEARS ago when I typed it. So I'm posting it now. It's got stuff I wanted to remember.*

I haven't really had any "creative juices" flowing lately and I was at a loss for what to do with his cake. I wanted to do a super cute one like the one found on this post....BUT...I didn't.  Simple, obvious, and kind of a perfect canidate for cake wrecks. (and to think i want to try and make a wedding cake.)

Anyways, it still turned out and tasted good. *That's all that matters anyways.

Dylan loved being sung to all day! When grandma and grandpa Lewis called to sing he would light right up. He'd look at me with the "I can't believe they're singing the same song as you mom." And then join in and sing along. He and 'Eli-stomach' (that's his name as of right thissecond) were in the tub. I was washing them and singin' to Dylan. After I finished Eli kept singin' to him. "Happy to you, happy to you...Dylan".

Later that night we went fishing at an (empty) fishing hole with Uncle Coley. It was still fun and seeing the ducks were the highlight.

Dylan got a singing flash light, blocks, and a hunting video game (NOT my idea!!!)

The next morning he asked me, "Haaah day?" And I sung to him again. Same results as were expressed above.

Some things shouldn't come to an end, but they do.

And so it begins...

I think I'm ready for this! My first order of the year came short notice, but I love that because I was able to see what I was able to come up with in such a short amount of time. Kind of gave me an idea of how I'll be able to handle orders and deal with kids and other responsibilities. It was totally fine and I had PLENTY of time. The figures has enough time to dry and I wasn't rushing.

The idea given was "Planes, trucks, and cars". And the rest was up to me.
Like the frog cake, I wasn't sure on if I was going to like it when I first started covering it. And like the frog cake, LOVED the outcome. I need to be patient with myself and just keep heading towards the vision I originally had.
It wasn't until the trees and bushes and stripes on the road when I started to be ok with it.
Then the road signs added that much more to it. And it started to feel right.

Upon delivery, the little guy here was in a fatal accident. It was all I could do to pick up the pieces. *hahahahaha...coincidence?

Every sporty car needs a spoiler. After looking at the picture, I wished I would've made a license plate with some clever vanity plate...

ehhh...next time.

Eli-Otis

I haven't posted about any of Eli's antics for awhile. So I wanted to post before they were forgotten.

On this particular morning. It was SOO cold out. But he wanted to go out and "enjoy the outside". I figured there wasn't anything wrong with that. Put on a coat and he was good to go. But then he left the house with a blanket. Then he came back for the rest of his bedding and pillow. Then he decided he needed his booster for something soft to sit on. It later became his prop for his pillow.
Dylan  had to get in on the action as well, and to avoid any unneccessary whining, I allowed him out for a short time as well. But it was SOOOO cold! These pictures do a terrible job at portraying that. But it was C.O.L.D.!
What I didn't plan on was Eli taking his shoes and coat off, so he "get warm in the blankets". When Dylan started taking his coat off, I decided they had been out long enough.
He just couldn't understand WHY. But then I couldn't understand WHY he had to go out that particular morning and lay out.
*************************************************************************
Eli came and asked me if he could have the grocery bags after we returned from such a trip. So I let him have them.
I walked in and found him sitting on the floor with all these bags and scissors. Before I freaked with him having scissors, I asked him what he was doing. "Cutting the handles off". "Why?" "Because I'm making something."
"What are you making?" "It's for my friends." We had a playgroup date that day. "What is it?"
"A parachute".

He had cut off all the handles. Then cut down each side of the bag so you could flip it open. Then he took a corner and tied it to another bag's corner. After he did that. He had to tie the handles back on for them to hold onto.

The boy is genius. He plans before hand HOW he's going to make something. And how it will work. Any ideas on types of classes to put him in to allow for this kind of creativness to expand? Plus, he's REALLY good at tying knots! Sometimes too good.

Ashton's first piaon recital

I wanted to get this up before it was too late in the New Year. But I think he did pretty good considering he had to learn it and memorize it in just one month.

And might I add, a handsome little stink as well.
